Award in Security Guarding(Level 2)
The EDI Level 2 Award in Security Guard Training (QCF) is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners requiring a qualification enabling the application for an SIA licence for security guarding. It is based on the SIA specification (2009) for core competency training for security guards covering the necessary understanding of the door supervisor/security industry and subject related security functions.

Security Guard Training Course Description
Become a Security Guard by completing a two day course at The Adult Learning Academy. Once you have completed this Level 2 course you will be able to apply to SIA for your Security Licence. This course is ideal if you are new to the industry and want to learn more about security work but at the same time be in the position to find yourself a job.

What standards do I need in order to join the door supervisor training course?
You must:
Be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to meet the requirements of the door supervisor training course.
What will I study?
You will study two units:
- Develop the learners understanding of the roles and responsibilities of door supervisors and security officers working in the private security industry and the regulations, which they must adhere to
- Develop the learners knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace including awareness of door supervisor emergency procedures
- Enable the learner to implement effective methods of communication and reporting
- Develop the learner’s abilities to recognise, defuse and resolve conflict situations
What equipment will I need
The college will provide all the necessary equipment for the door supervisor training course.
