Course Description
Manual Handling training courses are suitable for anyone whose work involves lifting or moving loads. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require all employers to carry out training for staff who lift or move loads. Manual Handling training courses help you comply with this legislation. We run courses open to individuals at our training centre.
All teaching materials are provided by us. A certificate of attendance is awarded to each candidate. The cost of an individual place on a course at our training centre is £55.00
What standards do I need in order to join the course?
You must:
Be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to meet the requirements of the training.
What will I study?
Course content:
1. Introduction to Manual Handling
2. Lifting and carrying safely
3. Techniques to avoid injury and strain
4. Manual Handling Risk Assessment and how this applies to you
5. Lifting and carrying in special situations.
6. The use of equipment
7. How to recognise and avoid potential problems
8. Responsibilities of employers and employees including Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and safety legislation

The college will provide all the necessary equipment.
