The EDI Level 2 Award in Security Guarding(QCF) is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners requiring a qualification enabling the application for an SIA licence for Security Guarding . It is based on the SIA specification (2009) for core competency training for Security Guarding guards covering the necessary understanding of the Security Guarding industry and subject related Security Guarding functions.

Course Description

This three day Security Guarding course is intended for those who are interested in Security Guarding (DS) Security Guarding . The SIA requires all Security Guards to have undertaken satisfactory training in order to be awarded the SIA licence. We pride ourselves in helping all our candidates achieve the training and qualification and then assist them in finding jobs and submitting applications.

What standards do I need in order to join the Security Guarding course?
You must:
Be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to meet the requirements of the training.

What will I study?
You will study two units:

  • Develop the learners understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Security Guarding officers working in the private Security Guarding industry and the regulations, which they must adhere to.
  • Develop the learners knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace including awarene4ss of emergency procedures
  • Enable the learner to implement effective methods of communication and reporting
  • Develop the learner's abilities to recognise, defuse and resolve conflict situations.
