Have you ever wanted to be a Reception Class Teacher or a Nursery Teacher? Then join many others starting this NEW qualification called the Early Years Educator at The Adult Learning Academy!

Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is suitable for a range of learners, either working or wishing to work in early years education and care.

Entry requirements:

You should be at least 16 years old, you must either hold GCSE in English and Maths (Grades A – C) or be working towards them. Please check out English and Maths GCSE courses for adults at The Adult Learning Academy. PLEASE NOTE: Without GCSE English and Maths (grades A – C), you will not be awarded the qualification as this is the new regulation requirement.

How is this qualification structured?

We have structured the units around four themes:

  • Theme 1: Health and well-being
  • Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
  • Theme 4: Professional development
  • Learners must achieve:

    23 mandatory unit and have 350 hours of practical placement i.e. 10 hours a week for 35 weeks. You will be required to source your own placement.

    How long does it take to complete?

    This qualification will take approximately 1 year intensive to complete.
